paraben free skin care

More and more of us are looking for paraben free skin care brands. We have read about the dangers of parabens and are wanting to avoid them.

Parabens are not something you want to mess around with. They can cause skin irritation and can have negative effects on our hormone systems. They are widely used in skin care and most people have contact with them on a daily basis through their personal care products.

How to Find Paraben-Free Skin and Hair Care Products

You want alternatives, you want skin care that is free of these chemicals. I am happy to say that there are more and more companies popping up to fill the need consumers have: to have safe but effective skin care that is paraben free.

10 Paraben Free Skin Care Brands

1. CV SkinLabs

Paraben free skin care

This company takes safety seriously, using thoroughly tested, potent ingredients that not only slow aging, but also help skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, chemical sensitivities, sensitive skin and chronic dryness.

CV Skinlabs refuses to use ingredients that are potentially toxic or hormone-disrupting.

Each product is rigorously tested for purity, tolerance and customer satisfaction. A medical panel provides feedback in the formulation of new products, to make sure they are suitable for sensitive skin.

Products are lightly scented with pure plant extracts rather than essential oils, which can be irritating to the skin. They contain ingredients that are anti-inflammatory and wound healing to encourage the healing of the skin.

My Personal Experience: I loved using CV Skinlabs Calming Moisture Lotion on my hands in the winter, it was a hydrating and gentle moisturizer. CV Skinlabs Skin Balm was a lifesaver when I had a case of really bad chapped lips, it was thicker and more nourishing than a lip balm, giving my intensely dry lips some relief.

2. Odacite

paraben free skin care brands

Founder Valérie Grandury wanted to make a fresh and organic line of skin care after being diagnosed with breast cancer and completely detoxing her life.

This companies philosophy is founded on the idea that fresh is best. The freshness of the raw ingredients is what makes a skin care product potent and effective.

Odacite's products are formulated with the purest, freshest organic ingredients the world has to offer. Each product comes with a Freshiency™ Date, telling you what month the product was created and what month it will start loosing potency.

They ship directly from the lab to your door, ensuring product freshness.

My Personal Experience: I have used quite a few of Odacite's products and I have to say I liked them all. Maria has written a handful of reviews on a variety of Odacite products. I really like Ocacite's Facial Serums, they are simple and effective. Their Deep Hydration Mask was excellent at relieving a wind burn I got on my face last winter.

Conclusion

With the public consciousnesses becoming more aware of the importance of what we put on our bodies, companies are being founded to fill the need for safe and natural skin care.

If you are like us at T-BOSC, you are no longer looking for USDA Organic stickers to convince you of the safety of a product. You are smarter than that, you know that a seal of approval doesn't always mean much, it doesn't guarantee a product is safe or natural. Instead, we must learn how to read ingredients lists and investigate a companies ethics and harvesting practices.

Parabens have been widely used in products to prevent bacteria growth since the 1950s and it is safe to use in my opinion. About 85 percent of cosmetics have them. If you want to play it extremely safe, do you suggest one using a few oil-based organic products that don’t contain water?

    Cheers

There is much controversy over whether Parabens are safe. They are currently considered safe by the FDA, and there is limited evidence of it’s toxicity. There are some animal studies showing reproductive effects. Here is a study that showed rats given doses of parabens had lower levels of sperm and testosterone. Parabens also get into the ecosystem and are harmful to marine life.

Yes I would recommend using a simple oil such as almond oil or marula oil in your skin care, this would help you avoid anything potentially toxic.

Thank you for this information, Andrea! My wife has lupus and always complains about how her skin becomes after/during a bad period. Soapwalla can be something she should look into. I’ll share this site with her.
