You want a fantastic organic body lotion will effectively seal in moisture all day, relieve dry and itchy skin without irritating it further, and be something you love to use every day. Take some time to relax and enjoy the experience of softer skin with our favorite organic body lotions. We have selected them not only based on their effectiveness and quality of ingredients, but also on how much people love using them!

What You Need in a Natural Body Lotion

  • Ingredients called humectants that draw moisture to the skin’s outer layer. These include glycerin and hyaluronic acid.
  • Occlusive ingredients to create a barrier over the skin and lock in moisture. Natural occlusives include beeswax, lanolin, candelilla wax, and carnauba wax, heavy oils like macadamia and castor oil, and cocoa butter.
  • Emollients to fill the gap between cell clusters, this will make the skin feel soft and smooth. Natural emollients include plant oils such as jojoba oil and butters such as shea butter.
  • Skin-repairing ingredients such as ceramides will help restore the skin barrier without irritation.
  • Soothing ingredients such as chamomile, calendula, oatmeal, and aloe to soften and calm itchiness and dry skin.
  • A reasonable price and size. Body lotion is meant to be applied to the whole body and used every day, so you want something that will last awhile.
  • Pump or tube packaging as opposed to jar packaging. This keeps air and bacteria from your fingers from getting into your lotion.

These look wonderful, I love lotions! My only problem is my dog tries to lick it off! I tell her no of course. I like the zen lotion because my skin gets really dry in the winter. I’m not knowledged on some of these terms, what is spf? When it says, “no spf protection”. And what is allantoin? I never heard of these… But the Pai would be my first choice! Everything about it sounds great!

Hi, Buffy 🙂 Thank you for your questions.

SPF means Sun Protection Factor, it is a measurement for how much a product will shield you from the UV radiation from the sun. Allantoin is a chemical compound found in plants such as Comfrey. It offers moisturization, increases skin smoothness, and helps speed wound healing.

    Hi Andrea

Great review which I found really helpful. I have recently developed dry skin on my face and eczema on my body which is really frustrating as summer is nearly here! I love the fact that most of these lotions are sensitive enough for eczema and psoriasis prone skins, especially the Pai brand.

You mention the first brand Ursa Major as having no SPF. Do the other brands offer any SPF? Thanks

    Teresa

Hi Teresa, none of the other lotions have SPF in them. We will be writing an article soon on our favorite lotions with SPF, so stay tuned. If you are looking for an SPF lotion recommendation now, you can head over to this post for some.

I think Pai sounds like an excellent skincare brand for you!

I found this website one of the best when it comes to free stuff and for sure I am going to try it out if I am going to win some of them. But I found this other website which I got free organic body lotion. And I want to share it: https://www.hotfreebees.com/free-organic-body-lotion-blog
And they were so good, they even paid for the shipping.
