My Review
Being a blogger definitely has its perks, like communicating with a lovely audience (ya that’s you), helping people make the switch to organic, and of course, getting free stuff to review.
Vapour Organic Beauty was generous enough to send me a product to try. I have tried a sample of their Atmosphere Luminous Foundation and I liked how it felt, but it left my face a little greasy at the end of the day, having oily skin meant that the Soft Focus Foundation would have been a better fit for me.
I was hoping to try the Soft Focus Foundation but a miscommunication happened via email and they ended up sending me the Luminous Foundation – oops. I guess I will give this foundation another go. The shade I ordered was #115.
Vapour has exceptional beauty products, I eventually want to try their eye shadows and their lipsticks. I was pleasantly surprised to find in my package, a few samples – Aura Muti-Use Blush in Charm, Elixir Plumping Lip Gloss in Flutter, Essence Restorative Night Treatment, Visionary Advanced Solution Serum, and Clarity Organic Makeup Remover.
I am not a huge makeup wearer. I used to wear it a lot in my teens, but stopped wearing it because everything made my acne worse and I wanted to avoid synthetic and toxic chemicals. I also found foundations to look fake and feel heavy.
Over the last couple years, I have been wanting to wear makeup more, especially after starting this blog and learning about all the amazing natural makeup brands available.
I applied this foundation over top of my serum. It had nice coverage, and felt good on my skin. It wasn’t too heavy, my skin still felt like it could breathe. I liked the feeling of it on my skin better than the ILIA tinted moisturizer.
The foundation has a matte finish, but after wearing it for awhile, my face looked shiny. I think this foundation needs a powder to finish it.
Reading about the product I see now that I should be using Vapour Beauty’s Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation because it is made for oilier and younger skin. The Luminous foundation is formulated for mature and dry skin. This is probably why it made my skin look shiny by the end of the day.
With proper application, this product is meant to give a glowing finish. Over application can give an overly shiny appearance.
Application
This stuff is so easy to apply! I like that it comes in a stick form, you can rub it on your skin and then blend with your fingers. The coverage was good and the finish was fairly matte.
Scent and Texture
Light and airy, like a soft velvet cloud. It has a light scent, very faint, you can barely smell it. It feels so light on my skin, I can barely tell I am wearing anything. It didn’t feel cakey or heavy.

What are Other People Saying?
85% of the reviews I have read have been positive. Everyone says the same things, “light, weightless, easy to apply, smooth, flawless, gives a subtle glow, perfect tones, and doesn’t cake up.”
Some of the negative comments were that it gets too greasy, the smell is too strong and the colors are too pink.
Final Thoughts

This foundation works.
It is velvety, covers well, doesn’t feel like a mask and makes your skin look beautiful. No wonder celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow rave about this stuff.
This foundation does what it is supposed to do, gives you flawless looking skin without looking like you have caked on makeup to get it.
It gave me a few pimples, but that is to be expected with my skin. I liked the coverage it gave me, I feel pretty and dressed up in it.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a foundation, even if they weren’t specifically looking for an organic one. The fact that it goes on so well and feels lightweight is enough of a selling feature to me.
The anti-aging and organic bonuses send me over the moon for this stuff. I would especially recommend this to anyone with dry or sensitive skin, considering all of its nourishing ingredients.
Pros:
- easy to apply
- lightweight on my skin
- portable
- wears well most of the day
- easy to touch up
- good coverage
- doesn’t smell too strongly
- natural ingredients
- gives a soft, natural looking glow to my face
- hides my blemishes
Cons:
- gave me a few pimples
- got a little shiny at the end of the day
- got shiny in the heat
My Rating
I give this an 8/10. I would give it a 10/10 if it didn’t give me any pimples, but honestly, when you have reactive skin and you put anything on it, it will affect it, so I don’t expect an makeup to not give me at least a couple pimples (hey, at least it also covers them up). I also didn’t like that it gets shiny.
