My Review
I have wanted a full coverage BB cream for a long time, I have previously been using ILIA’s Tinted Moisturizer, but as you may know, it is just a tint. I needed full coverage for those special occasions and for work, but I never wanted to go buy a drug store brand, I simply refused.
After working closely with representatives of Jane Iredale’s product line, and with close friends, I felt confident buying this BB cream.
It was a big decision for me because it was fairly expensive for my budget. I took the plunge and decided I wanted a high quality product that is worth my money.
My First Impression of the Product
My first impression was, “did I buy the right shade for my skin?” My first application of my new BB cream was a little light, but as I worked the product with a sponge I quickly realized this product neutralized and matched my shade wonderfully.
The product was a pleasure to use, with a velvety texture.
Scent and Texture
The scent is hard to describe, it is very pleasant, almost sweet. It does linger after application for a while but not a terrible thing, considering it doesn’t stink at all.
The texture truly feels velvety. Such a nice application. Smooth and full.
Application
I really love the application of this product. I feel like I am using a professional makeup brand when I apply it with a sponge. It doesn’t feel cheap like a drug store brand. I actually cherish and enjoy the application. I sit down and take my time with this products and it feels great. The application is:
- Smooth and soft.
- Ritualistic
- Velvety
- Full of life
- My skin still feels like it can breath

“what is that?” ingredients:
This BB cream has some ingredients I am not happy with, however, I still use and love this product because I know I have made the best choice in finding a product I will wear. There are far more pros than cons here.
The over all care and effort meets my high standards. I also support companies that are striving for the best. Jane Iredale continues to find alternative ingredients as the demand grows for less “Yuck” in our products.
Lets focus on some of the “what is that ingredients”
- PEG-10 Dimethicone: A silicone which provides a smooth feel and promotes spread-ability. Has a moderate hazard rating on Skin Deep
- Cyclopentasiloxane: (cyclomethicone) is a silicon-based cyclic compound; may be associated with environmental toxicity. Also used for stability of the product. Has a low hazard rating on Skin Deep
Silicone’s are my main concern here. I know why they use them in skin care. It provides smoothness and stability of the product. To me, this is one more hurdle that I hope can be rectified in the future, to find alternatives to this ingredient. However, the hazard is low, and compared to other products, this one is the best.

- Oily (non-comedogenic). Use with Jane Iredale’s primer for oily skin.

How well does it work?
This BB cream works fantastic. It is why I chose to call it the best. You get exactly what you want from it. A luminous, full coverage cream. Smooth and velvety, excellent quality, professional and luxurious.
What are Other People Saying?
- Works amazing as a post op cover up cream.

- The color was hard to match with my skin tone
- Can confidently use on my young teen girls skin
How Long Will it Last? What is the Shelf Life?
This BB cream should last you longer than 3 months if you use the pea sized recommendation. Use the dot above the i on Jane Iredale’s packaging as a reference. Try to use you product up within 10-12 months, you don’t want it to go rancid, it has very natural ingredients.
Final Thoughts
Pros:
This product does exactly what I want, with some added benefits. I get full coverage, with sun protection, my skin looks amazing and consistent. I do not have any shade lines, it blends wonderfully. I feel confident I am using the best product for my skin.
- Full coverage
- No shade lines
- Blends amazing
- Safe for my skin
- Sun protection
- High quality
- Professional
Cons:
After a few hours after application, my T-Zone gets slightly oily. I have combated this by using Jane Iredale’s Pure Matte Finish Powder. I can also reapply my matte powder if I feel oily throughout the day.
- Oily T-zone
- Needed a second product to combat oily T-zone
- silicone in the ingredients
My Rating: 9/10
My rating is 9/10. Even though I consider this the best organic BB cream on the market, I can still find a flaw or two. No product is completely perfect. In this particular case I love, love, love the application and the full, amazing coverage, but it is expensive. I will use it sparingly to stretch it out, so I can afford to buy it again, when that time comes.
