Whether used on their own or in combination with another cleansing product, cleansing oils provide some of the best results in evening out the quality of the skin, removing makeup and impurities, and providing nourishment.
Not only do facial oils purify the skin without dehydrating it, but they draw out sweat, dirt, SPF, and pollutants. Because of this, they leave the skin feeling supple and smooth without making it feel stripped.
Below, we’ve constructed a list of our six favorite organic facial cleansing oils.
Whether you’re looking for a multi-purpose cleanser, all-in-one cleanser, or an oil-based cleanser to complement another cleanser of yours, we’ve got the list for you! We hope you find this list helpful as you search the web for your ideal organic oil-based facial cleanser.
What to Look for in an Oil Cleanser
You will want to find an oil cleanser that contains oils that work for your skin type such as:
- All skin types: jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, and argan oil.
- Oily skin: non-comedogenic oils such as grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, and hazelnut oil.
- Sensitive skin: camellia seed and sweet almond oil.
- Dry skin: oleic-rich oils such as avocado oil, marula oil, or olive oil.
What to Avoid in an Oil Cleanser
Stay away from anything with detergents, alcohols, and salts which can dry and irritate the skin.

There’s a saying that your face is the mirror or reflection of one’s beauty. You can choose to cover the whole body but not your face. It displays how you feels, your beauty and how you carry yourself. So, having a clean and clearer facial skin is vital for both genders, I think.
One thing I like about oil cleansers is that you can either do make up afterwards or just leave your face like that. It keeps your face glowing and removes those stress from your skin. It is true, products with papain works awesomely great. Great, I must try one of these out. I bookmark your site, please what kind of products you can recommend for one that has pimples challenge. I have tried everything
Hello, Augusta, thanks for stopping in 🙂 Cleansing with oil is also a great way to remove your makeup! For your acne, I would recommend reading our Organic Acne Guide. I have found what works best for me is a leave-on salicylic acid serum and moisturizing with a facial oil mixed with a plant hydrosol.
I’m forwarding this post to my wife. She has super sensitive skin and is so vigilant about what products she uses. I feel like this will help her get some more options. Do you have any recommendations for her? It seems like whenever she uses certain products she breaks out in acne. Thank you for any input, and like I said I will be sending her your way.
Hi David, you can get your wife to read our sensitive skin guide, as well as our acne guide. I would have to know more about your wife’s skin and what products she uses before I could give recommendations for her.
She can also read our article on 70 oils that won’t clog pores, as well as the best oils for acne.
If she has any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us, we love to help!
Thanks for writing this article. I use facial cleansers every day and I think the brand I use is pretty good. But after reading your suggestions I need to go home and check the ingredients in my current facial cleanser. I never really thought about salt being an ingredient to avoid, but it makes sense. The Kari Gran cleansing oil seems interesting. I need a good product to use before bed, and remove makeup and this product looks like it could work. Thanks!
Hi Lindsay, the Kari Gran cleanser is a good choice! It will help get the makeup off your skin at night while leaving a fresh, glowing face afterward.
Quite a lot to choose from; I assume the site is mainly for women; my interest in skin care began four months ago when I added a display of bath and body products to our gift shop section of the art gallery. the products are made locally, since I am the salesman; i am having to learn about the products. The only skin care I as a man use is aloe vera, where I cut a fresh leaf from my garden and rub feet, hands and face. What is your experience with men using the products, because they do take up the products and enjoy the scents; coconut lime is a hit with both men and women. Are the suppliers small or large companies? How can you be sure of the use of the word organic? Thanks for sharing. Will bookmark for taking another look.
Aloe vera is such a great ingredient! We have a few articles on skin care for men if you want to have a look:

The companies in this post are mostly small businesses. I like to support companies that value transparency and authenticity. Being sure of the word organic can be tough, as businesses will use the word without being certified organic. You can look for the USDA organic seal, or other seals from regulatory agencies if you want to be sure. For me, a product doesn’t have to be certified organic, as long as the company is using natural ingredients and strives to make safe products.
I am really surprised to see that a product that I use falls on the list. Not because the product is not good though. I guess I’m just excited. I use the Kari Gran: Cleansing Oil and i can very well say that it has been a very good ride for me. I feel some products work better for some kind of people and all that matters is looking for what works for you. This is a great list anyway.
That is such a nice cleansing oil! Glad you stopped in 🙂
