Want to know what the best avocado face mask recipe is? I will give it to you:

  • Take a ripe avocado
  • cut it in quarters
  • mash a quarter of it with a fork
  • apply it to your face
  • let sit for a few minutes
  • rinse off

Super simple right? I believe that simple is the best, if you make things complicated, you will be less likely to do them. So K.I.S.S – keep it simple sister.

We can’t all afford expensive anti-wrinkle treatments, luckily an avocado packs a super anti-aging punch, and is very affordable.

What Are the Benefits of an Avocado Mask?

Antioxidants

Avocados are an excellent source of antioxidant carotenoids including alpha carotene, beta carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin and beta cryptoxanthin. These are free radical scavengers that protect your skin from environmental damage and prevents fine lines as well as other visible sings of aging.

Vitamin C

Yes avocados contain Vitamin C, who would have thought? This vitamin is necessary for the creation of elastin and collagen, which join your skin cells together and preserve their firmness and structure.

Vitamin E

Another antioxidant, Vitamin E is essential to the healthy functioning of the skin. It prevents free radical damage and reduces the effects of UVA and UVB radiation. It has anti-inflammatory effects and assists in wound healing.

Oleic Acid

An omega 9 fatty acid that preserves moisture in the epidermal layer of your skin. This helps keep your skin soft and hydrated. Oleic acid regenerates damaged skin cells and reduces redness and irritation.

Avocados are great for your skin. Whether you use them in your diet or externally on your skin, they will help you retain youthful, radiant skin.

If you want to switch up your face masks you can add some of the following ingredients to your avocado:

  • honey
  • yogurt
  • banana
  • lemon juice
  • olive oil
  • orange juice
  • egg white
