Yarok Feed your Hair Review

October 14, 2014 Maria 2 Comments

In this Review I will be looking at three natural hair products by Yarok. Feed your Volume Shampoo, Feed your Volume Conditioner and Feed your Youth Hair and Scalp Serum.

This encompasses a whole natural hair care regime. My reviews are based on hours of reading and compiling all of the information I could find about these products on the world wide web.

About Yarok

Each YAROK formula is a powerful blend of organic and all-natural botanicals that are consciously sourced and responsibly harvested. YAROK uses primarily certified organic ingredients.

Very few hair care companies can say that every one of their products meet 100% of all vegan requirements. Even fewer can claim that their entire hair care line is free of alcohol, paraben, sulfates and cruelty to animals, and that they work beautifully, too. Yarok can say all of the above.

YAROK is about relaxation and renewal in the broadest terms — nourishing the scalp with vital nutrients while serenading the senses with uplifting, soothing, or centering aroma’s from essential oils — to promote wellness from the inside out.

This Company is creating an experience for you, the costumer, with a philosophy of wellness, and true intentions to their clients.

Yarok Uses Special Water

The water that Yarok uses in their products has been specially treated to moisturize your hair. They use pure filtered Vitalized water that goes through a six step process of rare volcanic minerals. This filtering process removes all impurities, pesticide residues, chlorine and other toxic chemicals.

The water goes through Magnetic Stone & Ceramic Magnets to drop the surface tension of the water, boosting its solubility and making it better infiltrate your hair’s cellular membranes.

Feed Your Volume Shampoo Review

Ingredientsyarok feed your hair review

purified aqua (water), decyl glucoside, lauryl glucoside, Coco Coco Protein, Ascophyllum (seaweed) extract, herbal infusions of: Tussilago farfara (coltsfoot), Stellaria media (chickweed), Urtica dioica (nettles), Equisetum arvense (horsetail), Ulmus fulva (Slippery Elm), Althaea officinalis (marshmallow root), Symphytum officinale (comfrey root), Calendula officinalis (marigold) blossoms, Chamaemelum nobile (chamomile) flowers & Avena sativa (oatstraw) kernel; Hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) C02, Essential oils of: Lavandula angustifolia (lavender), Cedrus atlantica (atlas cedar), Citrus reticulata (red mandarin), Citrus Sinensis (sweet orange) oil & Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary); Citrus × paradisi (grapefruit) seed extract

What does it do? Raise your hairs’ volume and lower your carbon footprint with this luxurious, naturally foaming shampoo. It visibly plumps normal to fine hair.

My Take on the Ingredients

There is a lot of herb in this shampoo! The main foaming agents are decyl glucoside and lauryl glucoside. These both have low hazard ratings on Skin Deep. Other than that, the rest of the ingredients are plants. Yarok has done an excellent job making a safe, non-toxic shampoo.

Beneficial herbs and plants:

  • Seaweed Extract helps prevent moisture loss
  • Coltsfoot and Marshmallow root keep the scalp nourished and hydrated
  • Calendula and Chamomile protect and soothe the hair and scalp
  • Chickweed, Horsetail, Slippery Elm, Comfrey Root and Sea Buckthorn CO2 fortify the hair shaft
  • Nettles and Oatstraw help prevent thinning and hair loss

The scent of this shampoo comes from Lavender, Atlas Cedar, Red Mandarin, Sweet Orange & Rosemary. The aroma is very unique, heavenly citrus with a slightly woodsy note.

My Thoughts

This shampoo works. It cleans your hair, removes build-up and leaves your hair feeling soft and clean. The price is right too, it compares to salon products without all the toxic junk included. I seriously can’t believe how amazing the ingredients are in this shampoo.

Pros:

  • works on all hair types
  • refreshes the scalp without drying it out
  • doesn’t leave a residue
  • hair is left clean, meaning you don’t have to wash it every day
  • rinses out quickly
  • smells great
  • moderate lather
  • no toxic chemicals
  • volumizes your hair
  • 100% Vegan

Cons:

  • some people have experienced dry hair when using this product
  • doesn’t foam enough for some
  • some people say it is too expensive

Final Thoughts: This is an excellent and high-quality natural shampoo, honestly you can’t get much better than this. So many “natural” shampoos still contain questionable ingredients such as preservatives and harsh foaming agents. This shampoo has none of that.

This shampoo is especially meant for fine hair, as it is meant to add volume, but it will work on all hair types. Even oily hair can benefit from the cleaning power of this shampoo.

Feed Your Volume Conditioner Review

Ingredientsyarok feed your volume conditioner

purified aqua (water), vegetable emulsifying wax, herbal infusions of: Tussilago farfara (coltsfoot), Stellaria media (chickweed), Urtica dioica (nettles), Equisetum arvense (horsetail), Ulmus fulva (slippery elm), Althaea officinalis (marshmallow root), Symphytum officinale (comfrey root), Calendula officinalis (marigold) blossoms, Chamaemelum nobile (chamomile) flowers, Avena sativa (oatstraw) kernel, Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed, Macadamia ternifolia (Macadamia nut) oil, Ascophyllum (seaweed) extract, Aloe Barbadensis (aloe vera) gel; wildcrafted essential oils of: Citrus sinensis (sweet orange), Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary), Chrysopogon zizanioides (vetiver), Vitamin C, Salvia officinalis (Sage), Pelargonium graveolens (African geranium), Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree), Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender), Ravensara aromatica (clove nutmeg) & Citrus C. limon (Lemon); Citrus × paradisi (grapefruit) seed extract

What does it do? This conditioner will seal in moisture and promote volume and manageability, with the three superior moisturizers: Jojoba Seed Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, and Aloe Vera.

My Take on the Ingredients

Herbs galore with many hair and scalp supporting properties. Absolutely no toxic or irritating ingredients.

Emulsifying wax is the second ingredient on the ingredients list. It has a moderate rating on Skin Deep because the ingredient is not always fully labeled and the origin is unknown, It could be from petroleum or pant sources and is converted into a wax by adding detergents.

Emulsifying wax holds water and oil together, so that they don’t separate. It can enhance the penetration of oils into your hair.

Beneficial herbs and plants:

  • Organic Jojoba Seed Oil is similar to our own natural sebum, making it excellent for conditioning the hair and scalp
  • Macadamia Nut Oil helps repair dry, frizzy hair
  • Organic Aloe Vera is healing and loaded with vitamins and minerals
  • Seaweed Extract keeps moisture levels intact

The aroma of this conditioner is made of Sweet Orange, Rosemary, Vetiver, Sage, African Geranium, Tea Tree, Lavender, Clove Nutmeg, and Lemon. The scent is warm and earthy.

My Thoughts

This is a great natural conditioner. It softens the hair and contains a variety of herbs that are excellent for maintaining a healthy hair and scalp.

The scent is strong, and some people don’t like it, it does not smell like the shampoo. The shampoo has a light, citrus scent, while the conditioner has a strong, woodsy smell. You have to like the scent of Vetiver to like this product.

The price is high, but this one bottle of conditioner will last you months.

Pros:

  • adds volume to limp hair
  • smells very nice
  • leaves hair feeling soft
  • makes your hair shiny
  • doesn’t weigh your hair down
  • you only need a small amount to get the job done

Cons:

  • some people think the scent smells like smoke
  • has a stronger smell than the shampoo
  • may not be moisturizing enough for dry hair
  • high price
  • some people found it drying

Final Thoughts: A high-quality, truly natural conditioner that moisturizes, softens and adds shine to your hair without weighing it down. Potent herbs and oils provide amazing benefits to the health of your hair and scalp.

Conclusion

I have to say that I have rarely come across a hair care brand that uses such natural ingredients. You often find the botanicals mixed with toxic ingredients.

Yarok stands true to their very natural roots. Based on this fact I would consider Yarok to be one of the best hair care brands. In the testimonials I have come across, I have not even seen a handful of bad reviews.

I would consider Yarok a safe, natural, high quality hair care.

To a Bright and Beautiful you,
Maria.
