This is a question I often run into. And I have a very honest answer.
Organic skin care is a high quality product and the ingredients that are used are very potent.
If you consider a product with Essential oils and the effort that it takes to make those oils. it becomes more clear why.
Enormous amounts of plants are needed to produce essential oil.
In fact, on the extreme end, it takes 4000 pounds of Bulgarian roses to produce 1 pound of essential oil. Other plants like lavender only take 100 pounds of plant material to produce a pound of essential oil.
The production of natural and organic goods, be they foods or raw materials used in further manufacturing, is labor intensive and the demand is currently relatively small compared to the mainstream. In addition, organic producers must go through a cost intensive process to achieve organic certification of their products. These three factors are primary contributors to the basic gross costs of natural and organic products.
Still these facts make sense to me, I have done a lot of price comparison. I have noticed that while Organic Skin Care may have a higher price point, it is completely relevant to its ingredients and quality that make up its product, while other non organic “toxic” products can have an even higher price point and not have any specification as to why it is priced so high. They can simply price it however they want.
If you look at a list of ingredients comparing organic skin care to a regular product on the shelf you will notice that regardless of price, the regular products will have very similar ingredients, giving it no specific understanding as to why the prices will fluctuate.
Whereas Organic skin care has many different potent ingredients that are non chemical derived and extremely specific to your skin concern.
Basically the point I would like to make is that Organic skin cares price point is totally relative to its ingredients and “manufacturing”
You can buy non organic products with botanical ingredients, but you will still get fillers that you don’t need on you face. When deciding to purchase True Organic Skin Care, keep in mind why the price point may seem higher. Remember that it takes much more resources and production to create these wonderful products. Harvesting Mother Nature takes a bit of work 🙂
To a Bright and Beautiful You,
Maria.
