Electrolysis is the only Permanent Solution to Unwanted Hair.
My journey as an Electrologist began when I had a hormonal imbalance, causing a new surge of heavy hair growth on my face. This was a very sensitive time for me. I felt self conscious and very nervous that I now had a real serious problem to deal with. It was difficult to feel comfortable in public and my home life. I tried many different “solutions” that did not work. And I carried a pair of tweezers EVERYWHERE. So after time and frustration, I looked for a real solution, and I found a wonderful lady who did Electrolysis. The treatments were so successful I became very interested in wanting to become an Electrologist myself and help other women who were going through the same struggle that I was. I am now totally hair free ! And my hair problem is a thing of the past. It is now my goal to help others achieve this absolute freedom, and to never have to feel that way again.
Electrolysis is an effective, progressive permanent method of hair removal. By causing controlled tissue destruction at the base of the follicle. Electrolysis weakens the hair to inhibit growth. A filament, the approximate thickness of a hair, slides down the hair shaft to the root of the hair, where a quick pulse of current is applied. Electrolysis had been successful for over 100 years. It was first discovered as a treatment for ingrown eyelashes and was quickly realized it was effective to any destruction and permanent removal of all hair growth.
Electrolysis is a process that over time will result in permanent hair removal of the treated area.

Stages of hair growth
The stages of hair growth are important when considering permanent hair removal. There are three stages of hair growth, Anagen stage: This is the growing active stage, Catagen Stage: This is when the hair follicle separates from the dermal Papilla. And the Telogen Stage: This is the resting stage and this hair will eventually shed. Electrolysis needs to be accomplished at the Anagen stage to gain access to the dermal papilla. This will target the deepest part of the hair follicle and allow destruction of that hair. The hair may be treated multiple times at this stage to effectively destroy it.
What is Electrolysis ?
Follicle Electrolysis involves the use of a thin filament that directs an electrical current to a single hair follicle at a time. The Electrologist uses a sterilized single use filament each time. This Filament slides down the follicle to target the Dermal Papilla and coagulate the tissue to cut off blood supply to the hair so it can no longer grow. The Current energy also destroys the hair germ cell so no new hair can develop.
What is the cause of unwanted hair?
Frequently Asked Questions!
Is Electrolysis safe?
Yes, Electrolysis is safe; Be sure to find and Electrologist that uses sterilized single use disposable filaments. Electrolysis has been preformed safely for over a century!
Is Electrolysis Permanent?
Yes, Electrolysis is the only method of permanent hair removal, recommended by Doctors and Health Professionals.
Does Electrolysis hurt?
Every individual’s sensitivity level is different, Treatments will start off at low settings and increase as tolerance goes up. There is also topical anesthetics available. I have clients who fall asleep and find the treatment very relaxing
How many treatments will I need?
Electrolysis is done over a series of treatments and each individual will vary depending on their specific situation, size of area and hair type. As the hair is treated it will become thinner and gradually will stop growing. The follicle treated will never grow another hair as it is completely damaged. You need to stay on your treatment plan and completely leave the hair alone. This means DO NOT tweez or wax, as it will complicate the permanent removal process. Pulling hair with tweezers will make that hairs root stronger and cause a much more difficult hair to remove, continuing the cycle of growth. Waxing is a big NO NO, as this will pull the small velus hairs ( (fine baby hairs) that were never a problem, and will now become stronger and darker. So I must stress how important it is to leave the hair be as you work towards permanent removal.
Is Laser Permanent?
No, it is not considered “permanent.” Laser hair removal has not been available as long as Electrolysis. There is no statistics or documents to prove that it is permanent. Laser has proven over time that it will only result in temporary hair removal and eventually that hair will grow back. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC refer to it as “Temporary Hair Removal” The only industry that has the right to say Permanent Hair Removal is the Electrologist.
I truly hope this article has helped you to take the step and find an Electrologist to work with you. You must know that there is a solution and you can get rid of the hair growth. If you have any more questions, please leave a comment and I will do my best to guide you in the right direction.
To a Bright and Beautiful you,
Maria.

There are many different reasons for unwanted hair that result in permanent hair removal. Normal Endocrine influences are Puberty, Pregnancy, Menopause, Emotional stress and Medications. Endocrine Disorders arise out of a glandular imbalance and this affects hair growth. People vary greatly in their skin sensitivity to Androgens due to imbalance or genetic background. A high level of circulating Androgens may have no affect on one individual, whereas a low level may induce hair growth in another. Androgens are hormones that run through the blood supply to the follicle stimulating hair growth.
