Your skin being the largest part of your body gives the first impression of you. Maintaining your skin is the best option since it will be a gate pass to many opportunities. You will have high self-esteem and increased confidence to perform your daily activities.

Attending functions with friends will not be a problem since you are already aware that your beautiful and smooth face will not shame you. There are so many ways of maintaining your skin depending on how fast or how natural you want to be.

Below are the five tips that you can follow to keep your Skin looking young and fresh:

1. Clean your skin regularly and apply moisturizer

Make sure before you retire to bed your face is cleaned using warm water to clear out makeup. It helps to keep the pores relaxed as they excrete dirt clogged therein, hence preventing acne, and black and white heads. Pat, your face with your bare hands, to dry then apply a moisturizer of your choice.

The moisturizer ensures that your skin does not dry. If your skin is oily, you do not need a moisturizer but if it is dry try to make sure that you have applied moisturizer before you retire to bed. A clean face is free from bacteria and other infections and will always be young and fresh.

2. Get enough quality sleep

Anxiety caused by less sleep greatly affects the skin making it look old and tired. There are possibilities of developing wrinkles in the process. Ensure that you have a minimum of 8 hours which helps you maintain a stress-free look. Your face will look younger and fresh every morning since it does not have an allowance to express anxiety.

Use wrinkle free creams that work to deal with the wrinkles and fine lines formed when you experienced insomnia. Make yoga and swimming become your daily routine if you are suffering from insomnia, whereby you will be guaranteed a sound sleep with no struggle. In case you are not good at swimming and do not enjoy yoga, you can try the following;

  • A warm bath before sleep which also makes your body relaxed.
  • Make a regular bedtime schedule.
  • Drink water during the day rather that at night to avoid frequent visits to the toilet at night.
  • Take supper 2 -3 hours before bed.
  • Keep your bedroom dark and quiet.

All the above are possible ways you can try to enjoy a sound sleep that will help your skin look young and fresh.

3. Shave your skin with care

Use a clean and sharp blade while shaving to avoid injuring the skin. Most people shave the tiny hair on the skin to maintain a smooth a beautiful look. Do not try it by yourself if you are not perfect. Seek help from a beautician or an experienced person to ensure that it is performed safely and neatly.

Use warm water to clean your skin before shaving to soften the hair making it easy to shave. After the shave, rinse well with warm water to clear out soap and dead cells. There are creams that are responsible for removing the excess hair without the need to use a blade giving you a young and fresh looking face.

4. Protect your skin from sun rays

The sun has very dangerous UV rays capable of causing sunburns and long run skin problems such as cancer. Apply creams that contain sunscreen protector able to prevent your skin from the rays giving you a young and fresh look.

5. Avoid smoking and taking alcohol

During the process of smoking the smoke covers the skin decelerating collagen formation that help in reduction of aging and wrinkle formation components. The smoke makes the skin look older and dry with wrinkle formation.

You can replace smoke with some chewing gum, avoid the friends who smoke and also replace your smoking hobby to something else constructive such as the gym.

Alcohol is another source of skin destruction since it makes you forget to take a healthy diet leading to the formation of acne, white and blackheads and spots. The alcoholics are prone to grilled meat, roast chicken, fried potatoes among other junk foods. This keeps you away from a balanced diet full of vegetables and lots water that help to nourish and make your skin young and fresh. Let alcohol and smoking be deleted from your schedule to maintain a young and fresh looking skin

    Andrea, this some really good information about having younger looking skin. I like what you said about keeping your skin safe from the sun. Do you know if peptides can be something that will help your skin look younger?

      Peptides are proteins made up of long or short chain amino acids. They are the building blocks of protein. When short chain peptides are applied to the skin, they can penetrate the upper layer of the skin and signal the cells, telling them how to function.

      It is claimed that peptides applied to the skin trick your body into thinking that collagen has broken down and it needs to produce more. A popular signalling peptide used for this purpose is palmitoyl pentapeptide (Matrixyl).

      Copper peptides are a popular anti-aging ingredient. The idea is to attach copper to a peptide so that it can be delivered to the skin cells. Copper seems to promote collagen production and acts as an antioxidant. Copper peptides have been shown to accelerate wound repair.

      Peptides used in skin care are mostly synthetic, giving the lab technicians more control over their stability and effectiveness. There are a handful of natural skin care products containing peptides that are worth giving a try.
