Finding cheap organic makeup can be tiresome, especially when there are so many brands out there claiming to be organic and natural, but they aren’t. They still include synthetic chemicals and known toxins.
Why Shop Online
Shopping online is convenient, you don’t have to leave your house and you can often get free shipping. The only downfall when ordering makeup online, is that you can’t try out a color. Knowing what colors look good on you is the first step to buying makeup online.
Colors that look good on everyone:
- Eye Shadow - grey, brown, black, lavender
- Lips - fire-engine red, fuchsia, berry tones, pearlized lip gloss
- Cheeks - peach
Note that natural products have a short shelf life, mascara is generally good for 3 months after opening, Lip color/face powder/foundation/eye shadow and blush are generally good for 6 months after opening.
Where to Get Cheap Organic Makeup
Now be aware, that cheap often means lower quality. Buying cheap makeup may seem like a good decision in the short run, but in the long run, buying higher quality, more expensive makeup is going to benefit you so much more.
Cheap makeup is often full of fillers and synthetics, even though it is supposedly natural. Luxury organic makeup is often made with fresh, high-quality oils and plant butters as well as pure mineral pigments. There is often more pigment in luxury makeup, making it last longer and go farther. (Find out what luxury makeup brands I love).
I have searched the internet for you to find affordable makeup that still meets my criteria for being truly natural. I don’t want to waste my money thinking I am buying something non-toxic, only to find out later that I have been fooled. I am hoping to bring you the best of both worlds, high-quality ingredients, with affordable price tags.
The Best Cheap Organic Makeup Brand
Eco Bella
Eco Bella offers a great selection of natural and organic makeup. Their products are Gluten-free, FD&C dye free, petroleum-free, preservative-free, and fragrance-free.
Their products are paraben free*, they do not contain water, talc, alcohol, FD & C dyes, and animal products (except carmine for pink colors). *Their mascara and natural foundation are paraben-free, but contain phenoxyethanol, a preservative also known as rose ether. (There is some controversy regarding this ingredient, it does have a moderate hazard rating on Skin Deep, but this ingredient is still found in high end organic makeup too.).
They utilize flower waxes ( A by-product of making essential oils) that help give their products a silky texture and are good for the skin.
Ecco Bella Mascara
This mascara is water-resistant, but not waterproof. It is easily washed off at the end of the day. I like that the package has a built-in mirror, for on the go application.
The ingredients list on Amazon is outdated. It shows methylparaben and propylparaben but these 2 ingredients have been removed. The ingredients list on Ecco Bella’s website is:
Purified water, carnauba wax, palmitic acid (from palm oil), clay, phenoxyethanol and iron oxides.
The ingredients list is very minimal, making this a good product for avoiding the chemical concoction of most drug store brands. It has a very low hazard rating on the Skin Deep Database.
People find this mascara pleasing to use. It doesn’t flak or smear, it subtly lengthens and thickens. It doesn’t irritate your eyes, even if you are a sensitive person. It is lightweight, so you won’t get a dramatic look, but it works at adding an slight intensity to your eyelashes. It is not clumpy and offers good coverage.
Many people find that this is their favorite mascara and they have been using it for years. The price is very affordable and it comes in black and brown.

The coverage of this product is quite light, it is not a full coverage foundation, but it works well on all skin types and does not get oily or melt off your skin. The product feels airy on your skin, not heavy or greasy. It is not too runny or too thick, it goes on easily and looks natural, not mask-like.
Many people are satisfied with this product, saying it is the best foundation they have used. It is moisturizing, doesn’t look cakey and is not irritating.
