Online shopping has its perks, but how do we get the most of our online shopping experience? What is the best way to shop for organic skin care online?
I have some tips to share with you on making the most of your online shopping experience as well as some reasons why shopping online is better than shopping in a store.
Shopping Online Vs In Store Shopping
No salesperson bugging you
When you shop in a store, you often have people coming up to you wanting to know if you need help, this can be wonderful if you do need help and some salespeople are great to talk to, but, sometimes they are just plain pesky and annoying.
I personally like to be left alone in a store so that I can think, and if I need help, I ask for it. When you shop online, there is no salesman looking over your shoulder.
You can truly take your time deciding
I like to take my time before making a purchase, I go to a few stores and see what they offer. I like to read ingredients lists and learn about the brand, basically I do research before I buy.
When you shop online there is no time limit, the store won’t close, you don’t have to drive across town to get there, there is no pressure to Buy. Right. Now.
You can cross-check ingredients before you buy
When shopping online, you can copy and paste ingredients to look up on other websites. You can check out the product’s rating on EWG’s Skin Deep Database or look up an interesting sounding ingredient.
If you do have a question, help is just an email away
Many online boutiques have knowledgeable people that are just an email away. You can email them your concerns and they often get back to you within a day. Not all physical shops have knowledgeable people working there, so sometimes you are left with unanswered questions.
You can sleep on it
Without the pressure to buy, you can sleep on your decision. This prevents impulse buys.
Luxury Organic Skin Care isn’t Available In Stores
Most of the brands we love here on T-BOSC are not available in many stores, they are available in a few cities, but most of us don’t have access to them any other way than online.
Downfalls to Shopping Online
The biggest downfall with shopping online is that you can’t feel the product, you can’t smell it and there are no testers. This is where online reviews come in handy as well as getting samples sent to you with your order.

Tips to Getting the Most out of your Online Shopping Experience
1. Know your products/brands
Research and learn what brands you want to experience. To keep things simple, stick to one brand for your routine, that way you know the products are formulated to work together.
2. Read Reviews
Most online stores have reviews that you can read, but don’t just stick to those, also check out what bloggers are saying.
There is a whole range of bloggers online that have tried products and written reviews on them (we are one of those sites). That way, you can get a sense of the smell and texture of a product before you buy. If you can find a blogger with your skin type, that is a major bonus (bookmark their site).

3. Get Samples
Most stores will have a sample program, make sure you inquire about it before making your purchase. When you make a purchase of a full-size product, tack some samples onto your order. try out that facial serum you have been wanting to test, or get a sample of the lipstick you have wanted to try and see if the color is right for you.
My favorite online shop, The Detox Market has a sample program. (Click here to learn more).
4. Know your online shops
Find a few online shops you love and stick with them. Finding a great shop can be tricky, because there are so many, but luckily I can tell you my #1 recommended online shop.
A good shop will have free shipping, they will carry a variety of high-quality products and have great customer service. The brands we love here don’t have much fluctuation in their price, so shopping around for the best price isn’t necessary.
What Online Shop do I recommend?
My # 1 shop takes the guessing out of buying, they only carry brands that are small, ethical, truly natural and high-quality. You know that if they are carrying it, it is worth buying.
The products available are top of the line. The quality is impeccable and the products are fresh and potent. They only buy in small batches from the manufacturers to ensure that their products are always fresh. Your skin is worth something that works.
This shop has a custom sample program, which is a major bonus when you are wanting to try a product out before you buy it.
The have an American shop and and Canadian shop, both offering free shipping over a certain amount.
