odacite serum concentrate review

Product: Odacite Camelina & Chamomile Serum Concentrate (for sensitive skin)
Price: $39 USD/$46 CAD
My rating: 7/10

Another awesome facial serum concentrate from Odacite. This one is for sensitive skin. Camelina and Chamomile soothe and calm your delicate facial skin.

Odacite has a wide variety of facial serums, each one formulated with a specific concern in mind. Whether you want to target fine lines, dry skin or pimples, there is a serum for you.

Each serum is made with the high quality, cold-pressed oils and pure essential oils, to make sure they are potent enough to get the job done.

My First Impression

odacite camelina chamomile serum concentrate review

It went on smooth, absorbed well and smelled delicious. I love the smell of chamomile, it is so soothing. I used this serum by itself rather than using it as a booster in a moisturizer. I put it on my face right before bed (after washing of course). I loved how the chamomile scent lulled me to sleep. I would totally use this on my face every night.

Ingredients

Highest-grade cold-pressed certified virgin Camelina (Camelina sativa) seed oil, German chamomile, Calendula, Rose, Lavender, Blue tansy, Sandalwood (Matricaria recitita, Calendula officinalis, Rosa damascena, Lavandula angustifolia, Tanacetum annuum, Santalum album) essential oils, Certified GMO-free Vitamin E (Tocopherols) oil.

Camelina Oil:

A very shelf-stable oil that resists rancidity for 2 years. It is high in omega 3’s, making it an excellent oil for inflammations and irritations.

  • Omega-3 ( Alpha – Linolenic Acid ) is 35 %
  • Omega- 6 ( Linoleic Acid ) is 17 %
  • Omega-9 ( Oleic Acid ) is 17 %

It is high in vitamin E, making it a protective and healing oil.

German Chamomile:

Contains chamazulene, a compound that helps with inflammation. This oil works well on boils, burns, cuts, bruises and rashes. It can help treat acne, eczema, and other skin issues. The aroma soothes and calms, easing nervous tension.

Calendula:

Great for healing wounds and skin troubles, it heals dry skin and relieves itching. Calendula protects the skin from sun damage. It is soothing and anti-inflammatory. It also has anti-aging properties, delaying wrinkles and stimulating collagen production.

Rose:

Relaxing, soothing and balancing. Rose oil is anti-viral and anti-bacterial. It is great for dry, sensitive skin, and has mild astringent properties.

Lavender:

An adaptogen, lavender essential oil helps the body adapt to stress and imbalances. It is soothing to the skin and helps heal cuts and irritations.

Blue Tansy:

Also contains chamazulene, an anti-inflammatory. Blue Tansy is an exceptional healer for the skin, helping sooth burns, rashes, and damaged skin. The scent is relaxing and sedating. Blue Tansy is also anti-histaminic, making it excellent for allergic irritations.

Sandalwood:

Sandalwood is cooling, calming and centering. It helps soften the skin and has been shown to prevent skin cancer. It soothes irritation and inflammation, helping to heal infections.

Final Thoughts

I only used a small sample of this product, so I can’t say if it has noticeable effects on irritated skin. Based on the ingredients, I would think it would work really well on eczema when it’s in its dry phase. The ingredients are top-notch for their effectiveness on irritated skin so I am sure it would work well.

It felt nice on my skin at bedtime, I did notice that my face felt calm, there was no itchiness or heaviness. The scent lulled me to sleep.

Sounds like a great product. I am wondering if it would be good for my teenage daughter and her acne? She is on a prescription medication right now and I would love to use something more natural for her.

That is a tough question, Kimberly. Acne is often tough to treat naturally, I know this personally, as I have dealt with acne for 20 years. I have tried natural products, but I have yet to find something natural that works. I use benzoyl peroxide on my face to combat my acne. This is the only non-organic, non-natural product I use, everything else I use is organic and natural. I love using this serum in conjunction with my acne treatment, as a way to bring some nourishment to my skin.
