How to Reduce Wrinkles Naturally – 14 Tips

There are quite a few methods for reducing wrinkles, in this article we will show you how to reduce wrinkles naturally, so you can keep your skin looking young for longer.

The sooner you start implementing these methods, the better off you will be. It is easier to prevent wrinkles rather then treat them.

Here are my top tips for reducing wrinkles:

1. Stay out of the Sun

The sun is awesome, it is a life-giving energy, it brightens our mood and is essential for our bodies to make Vitamin D. It also causes skin damage, so you don’t want to spend hours baking in it. I love spending time outdoors, my favorite way to enjoy the sun without risking damage is to:

  1. Wear a hat – A wide brimmed hat helps keep the sun off your face.
  2. Stay in the Shade – I pick a nice spot under a tree to sit.
  3. Wear a tinted moisturizer – this gives you sun protection and a nice finish ( I wear ILIA’s Tinted Moisturizer)

2. Don’t Smoke

Smoking is bad for you, it makes you age faster and gives you wrinkles. Nuff said.

3. Wear Sunglasseshow to reduce wrinkles naturally

Wearing sunglasses protects your eyes from UV damage, and they also prevent you from squinting, which causes wrinkles (believe me, I know, because I have some deep wrinkles in between my eyes from squinting for years).

4. Eat a Healthy Diet

A healthy diet rich in vegetables, fruit and good fats is going to give your body just what it needs to stay in peak health.

5. Sleep on your Back

Sleeping on your front is going to push, pull and tug on your facial skin, leading to wrinkle formation.

6. Use a Good Moisturizer

A good moisturizer will help keep your skin plump and soft. Make sure you use a high-quality, organic moisturizer so that you avoid any toxins and potentially irritating ingredients.

We recommend: Odacite’s Beautiful Day Moisturizer

7. Eat Antioxidantshow to reduce wrinkles naturally

Eating foods high in antioxidants will prevent oxidation and aging throughout your whole body. Try to eat a rainbow of colors everyday to get the most variety of antioxidants. Berries are super high in antioxidants.

8. Use Topical Antioxidants

Using seed oils and nourishing plant extracts on your skin will give you a boost of antioxidants just where they are needed.

We Recommend: Kypris Beauty Antioxidant Dew

9. Facial Oils

Facial oils are an excellent way to bring antioxidants to your skin and help prevent wrinkle formation. They can also hydrate and plump your skin, reducing the look of fine lines.

We Recommend: Odacite’s Acai and Rose Serum Concentrate

10. Eye Creams

Eye creams are a necessity for preventing and reducing lines around the eyes. Many products you use on your face are not safe for around the eyes, therefore, you need a cream specifically for the eye area.

11. Start Young

The sooner you start, the better off you will be, but remember, it is never to late to start taking care of your skin.

I remember my mom using Olay creams every day. She still retains her youthful skin. I used to use her creams just for fun, but now I know how important it was to use these treatments in my youth (o.k, maybe a bit unnecessary when you are 7, but mid 20’s is a good place to start).

12. Don’t Over Wash

Over cleansing your face will dry it out and dry skin equals wrinkles. Only wash 2 times a day, once in the morning and once at night, Using a gentle cleanser that won’t over-strip your skin.

We Recommend: Amala’s Soothing Cream Cleanser

13. Drink Enough Waterhow to reduce wrinkles naturally

Get enough water in your body by drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. I use a stainless steel water canteen throughout the day to make sure I am drinking enough.

14. Use a Night Cream

At night your skin regenerates. Why not use a nourishing cream to help it along?

We Recommend: Odacite’s Night Time Repair Serum

Well there you have it, 14 tips on keeping your skin in top-notch shape.

How do you reduce wrinkles? Do you have any tips to share?

Great tips here for reducing wrinkles! I’m glad you mentioned foods to eat that help with skin, what you put in your body makes a HUGE difference. Lately I have been using plain organic non-refined coconut oil on my face as a moisturizer. That along with a good diet and hydrolyzed collagen powder have been making a big difference 🙂

I totally agree, smoking totally ruins your skin! Curious, what do you think about hyaluronic acid serums?

You are what you eat 🙂

I have never heard of hydrolyzed collagen powder, how do you use it? Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer, as long as you aren’t acne-prone (it can cog pores).

Hyaluronic acid serums are great for wrinkles. They hold lots of moisture in the skin and keep it looking plump.

Our skin is certainly a barometer of our health. So many of your tips for how to reduce wrinkles naturally are solid tips for how to be healthy.

I gave up tobacco, alcohol, meat and dairy more than 20 years ago and, while I’m not young, I’m definitely aging more slowly than my peers with unhealthy habits.

I’m a big fan of green tea and smoothies. Both are excellent sources of antioxidants. I keep frozen berries, pineapple and bananas in the freezer and can whip up a smoothie in just a few minutes.

I love smoothies as well! I just bought a Vitamix blender so that I can make awesome smoothies.

We definetly age slower if we take care of oursleves.

It seems to me that skin care is such a huge topic for people. I am not obssesed with skin care but understand its importance. I applaud everyone who is helping people with their skin. Skin is very important and healthy great looking skin can improve your look and mood about yourself. Also helps with self esteem if you have had bad skin in the past.

Our skin is what we show the world, so it is very important. It is also a sign of our inner health and vitality. We show our emotions on our facial skin. I love knowing that I am helping people with their skin troubles.

i’m always in the sun for long hours and everyone fusses at me for it. People tell me to put on skin care products and i never listen. I also lost over 100 pounds a few years back and was wondering of a cream for stretch marks that helps? do you know of one?

Spending long hours in the sun will contribute to wrinkle formation. My husband also spends long hours in the sun and does not wear any sunblock. I think it is a personal choice. I personally am not afraid of the sun, I think it is healthy for us to get some exposure, but I do know that a lot of exposure will lead to more wrinkles. I do wear sunscreen containing zinc and titanium dioxide on my face to prevent wrinkles.

I am not sure if there are creams that would help with stretch marks from losing weight. I know that keeping your skin hydrated can help minimize stretch mark formation. Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter, or Emu oil are excellent for keeping your skin soft.

Just love it your article. The explanation is really simple and straight to the point. Also they don’t consume much of the time to take action with all of them. I believe it’s all about to make some adjustments with the way we take care of ourselves and do not leave everything to the dermatologists. It all starts with our actions.

    Great post

I love the fact you promote natural healthy skincare rather than chemical based products. It’s very refreshing .

As you say antioxidants from fruits are amazing. I have also heard that royal jelly from queen bees is incredible for complexion. Do you know anything about this and is there a product you’d recommend.

Thanks so much Jason 🙂 You are correct, royal jelly is another ingredient that has been touted as having super anti-aging properties.

The reason it is popular in skin care is because royal jelly is high in Vitamins A, E, C and B (not including B12). Royal jelly also contains hormones, sterols, fatty acids, enzymes, DNA and RNA, gelatin and immune proteins. All of these compounds are excellent for skin health.

While there isn’t a lot of research on the benefits of royal jelly, it appears to be anti-inflammatory, and it’s estrogen-like compounds may help with reducing the appearance of fine lines. It does have humectant properties and it draws water from the air onto the skin, keeping the skin moist and conditioned.

As for product recommendations, there is a very highly rated serum available on Amazon called Timeless Skin Renewal Serum by Joyal Beauty as well as a cream called Royal Jelly Intensive Cream by Golden Sundrops. These are both all natural and contain no questionable ingredeints. If I wanted to try royla jelly for myself, those would be the products I would buy.

Great topic for an article, everyone as they become older will experience wrinkles. It is something many people experience to lower their self-esteem, wrinkles reminds us we are aging much like those first grey hairs.

Great tips on preventing wrinkles, I know from my father smoking he has many wrinkles and at an early age at that so smoking is a definite factor on wrinkles as you age.
