The Best Essential Oils FOr Warts
Tea Tree oil and Lavender oil are the best essential oils for warts. They are affordable, can be applied without a carrier oil and they work!
What Causes Warts
A wart is a small, hard elevation on the skin. They are caused by a one of the many strains of the human papilloma virus (HPV). They typically occur on the hands and feet, but can sometimes be on other parts of the body. They are very common and most people have experienced them at some point in their lives.
Warts are contagious and can be passed from one person to another, usually on areas of broken skin. Walking barefoot in locker rooms or swimming pools, and using towels or razors of affected people can cause warts.
In this article, we are concerned with warts that occur on the feet, hands, face (except the eye area), arms or legs. Essential oils should not be used for genital warts before consulting a doctor.
Healing Warts With Essential Oils
Warts will heal on their own, but it can take a really long time. Essential oils can help speed up healing time because many of them are anti-viral, antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal.
There are many oils that posses the above mentioned properties, but I want to keep it simple for you, as well as affordable. Oils such as frankincense or helichrysum can help with warts, but they are expensive. The oils I recommend are affordable and can be used without dilution.
Where to Get Essential Oils
I buy my oils from Rocky Mountain Oils, one of the best essential oil companies out there. You can learn more about this essential oil company here: The Best Essential Oil Brand
Direct Application
For ages 12 and up
- Soak your skin for five minutes to soften it (this is optional, but helps the essential oil absorb).
- Apply 1 - 2 drops of lavender or tea tree essential oil to each wart.
- Allow the skin to dry and cover with a clean bandage.
- Repeat 2 - 3 times a day. This treatment can take 2 - 8 weeks to completely heal your warts. Be diligent and patient.
- If applying the essential oils undiluted is too strong, you can use a carrier oil. We recommend fractionated coconut oil, but any oil will do.
