Product Info
Ingredients
Zinc Oxide 12%. Tomato Extract, Tomato Juice, Horse Chestnut, Spring Water, Corn Germ Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin C Ester, Vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Stearic Acid, Tocopherol, Xanthan Gum, Vanilla, Peppermint Extract, Pine Needle Oil, Orange Oil, Beta Carotene, Cetyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate.
About the Ingredients
- Tomato: a lycopene-rich fruit. Lycopene neutralizes free radicals which age the skin, and offers a small amount of SPF.
- Aloe Vera: soothing and refreshing.
- Orange Oil: softens and nourishes the skin.
- Micronized Zinc Oxide: emollient; soothing; provides broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection*
- BioComplex™: a booster of antioxidants, vitamins, Coenzyme Q10, and Alpha Lipoic Acid to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve the appearance of skin.
*About micronized zinc oxide: This may or may not be a nano-particle, it is impossible to tell without knowing the exact size of the particles (I am going to ask Eminence).
- Micronized zinc oxide does not create a white film on the skin, making it a more pleasing product.
- There is not conclusive evidence that nano-particles of zinc oxide get absorbed by the body, so at this point, they seem to be safe.
- The biggest concern is with inhalation, which you don’t have to worry about when using a cream.
- Nano-sized zinc oxide particles are still safer than chemical sunscreens which are meant to penetrate the skin and do make it into your bloodstream.
My Review
I tried a sample of this cream and I really liked it, so I bought a full size container. I really like that this cream gives me daily broad spectrum sun protection with just zinc oxide. There are no chemical sunscreens in this product. It is a perfect sunscreen for daily wear.
This cream has a cooling effect on the skin, because it has peppermint in it. I love that this cream contains Vitamins that are good for my skin. It offers a nice amount of moisture. I love Eminence’s moisturizers, they are so rich and creamy and really make your skin feel soft. They sink right in, not leaving a greasy or shiny appearance.
The coolest thing about this day cream is it filters out UVA, UVB and UVC rays, but still allows your skin to process Vitamin D!
This cream is anti-inflammatory, reduces pigmentation, deeply moisturizes, prevents sun damage, and enriches the epidermis. Eminence moisturizers supply natural antioxidants in a liposome base. This allows the topical application of antioxidants to have their maximum benefit on the skin.
Scent, Texture, Color and Application
The scent is a light peppermint smell. The color is a very light peachy-red. It has a nice application, it goes on fairly thick. If you want a lighter application, you mix it with a little water, or apply it to a moist face. The texture is smooth and creamy.
This cream does not leave a white finish at all, nor is it shiny or greasy. It is nicely hydrating, leaving my skin soft. It has a cooling sensation, because of the peppermint in it.
The cream comes with a scoop for getting the product out of the jar without contaminating it with your fingertips.
Packaging
The product is packaged in a plastic tub with a screw-on lid. Inside the box is a package insert with a handy guide to Eminence’s full product line with all of their products separated into categories and skin type.
Price, Size and Shelf Life
$66 USD for 2 oz / 60 ml – The shelf life is 10 months.
Who is this product for?
This cream is best for normal, combination and dry skin types.

What are Other People Saying?
I have read many online reviews at various shops, and people really love this day cream! Here are some of the things people love about this product:
- it absorbs quickly
- is the perfect daily sunscreen
- isn’t greasy
- does what it is supposed to do
- nourishes the skin
- perfect weight, not too oily or light
- lovely delicate scent
Final Thoughts
This is an excellent cream for daily wear and sun protection. It is not robust enough for a day at the beach in the hot sun, but it work well for day to day use. I love that it protects my skin from sun damage but doesn’t prevent me from harnessing Vitamin D from sunlight.
I also love that there are no chemical sunscreen ingredients in this product. The texture is a dream and the absorption makes it a delight to use.The scent is lovely and the cream offers a cooling effect to the skin. What I do not like is the fact that this cream contains Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, a formaldehyde-releasing preservative. It makes me a little angry that they would add something like this to an otherwise toxin-free product. It is the last thing on the ingredients list, so it won’t stop me from using this product.
Eminence is a trusted and highly rated brand that makes amazing products that people love. I can’t wait to try more of their products in the future ( I really want to try the Persimmon & Cantaloupe Day Cream SPF 32, as it is better suited for my oily skin type and offers higher SPF.)
Pros:
- non-greasy
- smooth, creamy texture
- offers excellent hydration
- smells lovely
- absorbs well
- doesn’t leave a white residue
- perfect for daily wear
- repairs and protects the skin
Cons:
- could have a higher SPF option
- might not be strong enough for a day at the beach
- contains Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate
My Rating:
8/10 This face cream is wonderful for using daily, when you are going to and from work or spending some time outdoors. It has anti-aging properties and the ingredients are mostly clean and safe (except for Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, a formaldehyde-releasing preservative). I love every Eminence product I try and I can’t wait to keep trying their stuff (they have a huge line).
Where Can You Get it?
True Eminence products that are not outdated or imitation must be bought from an authorized distributor. Although Eminence is available on Amazon, I do not recommend purchasing from there. The sellers on Amazon are not authorized, meaning they are selling counterfeit or old products. I buy my Eminence online from Amy’s Skin Care, an authorized Eminence dealer with free shipping!
Why was tomato day cream not sold anymore?
Hi Maria, it looks like Eminence discontinued this product 🙁 Too bad because I really liked using it.
Their Red Current Moisturizer with SPF is a good alternative.
