My Review
My First Impression of the Product
I really love mineral eye shadow. I love how it glistens and shines. I personally look best in browns, golds and plum colors, and Alima Pure has all my favorite colors.
I was first excited with their principals and practices as a company, following that excitement, I loved the colors they offered.
Scent and Texture
Alima Pure Pearluster Eye Shadow‘s are soft and luscious.
There is not much of a scent, considering these are minerals.
Application
- Wet application: A much more bold and dense color that goes on like a soft cream. Use a makeup brush for a wet application for better control of contours.
- Dry application: Pearluster goes on like a light dust, soft and smooth. A dry application is lighter and softer in color. The same goes for a dry application, you will want to use a makeup brush.

Product Info
Ingredients
Mica (CI 77019), May contain [+/-]: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Ultramarines (CI 77007).
“what is that?” ingredient:
We have to look at these ingredients closely and with explanation. It is hard to understand what these ingredients are.
Mineral makeup is made up of natural minerals found from nature, however, this does not always mean it is safe to use on the skin. Crushed rocks or minerals contain all sorts of toxins we want to avoid. We will go through Alima Pure Pearluster Eye Shadow‘s ingredients list to help you better understand what decision you want to make.
The following information is found on Alima Pure’s website in regards to their ingredients.
- FERRIC FERROCYANIDE (CI 77510): an inorganic mineral salt used to provide a rich blue color. Cosmetic-grade ferric ferrocyanide is approved for use on the eyes and face in the U.S., and on lips, eyes and face in the E.U. and Japan. We use it in a few of our eye shadows and shimmer powders. Please note: Ferric ferrocyanide is not approved for use on the lips in the U.S.
- IRON OXIDE (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499): inorganic compounds created from purified, oxidized iron. Iron oxides range in shade from yellow to red, brown and black. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.
- MICA (CI 77019): an inorganic, colorless silicate mineral that provides luster and adhesion. We use mica in most of our cosmetics for its luxurious silkiness and subtly reflective properties. It’s available in many grades, some known as “sericite” or matte, that range in textures from matte to shimmery. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.
- TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891): a naturally occurring oxide of titanium, generally used as a pigment. Cosmetics grades are extremely pure and highly prized as an effective nonchemical sunscreen. Titanium dioxide is found in our Satin Matte Foundation and most of our color cosmetics. It is not used in our Color Balancing Powder, Balancing Primer Powder or Satin Finishing Powder. We do not use nano-sized titanium dioxide in our formulas. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.
- ULTRAMARINES (CI 77007): a blue inorganic mineral pigment composed of complex sodium aluminum sulfosilicates. Ultramarine blue is found in a few of our Satin Matte Eyeshadows and Satin Matte Eyeliners. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.
Considering the ingredients, I feel that we are dealing with some low risk minerals. All minerals featured here have a low hazard rating (except Titanuim Dioxide, has a rating of medium hazard) and have been approved by skin care governing bodies as safe to use on the skin excluding Ferric Ferrocyanide, not to be used on the lips.
Have a look at Skin Deep’s website to help better your own personal choice.

You will be able to use this eye shadow for a long time. I have had mine for over 6 months, and I have a lot of applications left.
