A brighter skin – fathomed by many, but flaunted by only a few. It is a dream that every woman lives for. Unfortunately, most women are under this impression that only expensive treatments can make their skin look brighter. This article will serve as an eye-opener. Simple hacks too can make the skin brighter than ever before. Just follow them and see the difference.

#1. Exfoliate Dead, Dry Skin

The best and most effective hack is exfoliation. If your skin is dry, then it turns even more important to slough those dead cells off. This will improve the texture of the skin and reveal the real skin color beneath.

For Dry Skin

  • Clean the skin. Slather a creamy exfoliant.
  • Allow it to dry for 10-15 minutes.
  • Do hold your face from the sides so that it doesn’t start pulling inwards. This can cause wrinkling.
  • Now use one hand in long strokes to remove the dried exfoliator using warm water.
  • Immediately after, when the skin is still damp, apply a serum or organic facial oil and a moisturizer.

For Oily Skin

  • Pick an exfoliator that is specially formulated for your skin.
  • Do it once a week or once in 15 days.
  • Oily skin may get irritated if exfoliated/rubbed/scrubbed more often.

-> Read about cleansing grains – all-natural exfoliates.

#2. Booster Oil

It is one shot of antioxidants, vitamins and nourishment all-in-one. It makes fine lines and wrinkles flatten out and give your skin a boost. To begin with, use it two times a day for a month. And witness the change in your skin. Other than that it can be left overnight in case of dry skin. Rinsing off in the morning with a gentle scrub gives a glowing skin. For normal skin, it should be left for only an hour and then rinsed off. In the morning, use a mild cleanser and wash with cold water.

-> Odacité makes oils that are suited for various skin types, see them here.

#3. Multi-Purpose Balm

A multipurpose product is all you need to make your skin brighten up. A multi-purpose balm keeps the lips healthy and moisturized. A small amount on the nails and cuticles give gentle shine. It is good for the eyebrows too – they will grow healthier. It can also be used as a hair product to help manage frizz. Creates definition and texture at the ends.

-> This is my favorite balm.

#4. A Mask

One remedy for multiple problems. It can fix them instantly. Apply a mask for 15-20 minutes just once in a week, if not more. It will keep the skin looking soft, smooth and plump. Different masks can have different effects on the skin. A mask can work as a deep pore cleanser, to avert acne popping up and so on. Some scrubs exfoliate and moisturize. Pick one as per the requirement of your skin.

#5. Exercise Regularly

Sounds cliched. Well, it might be but is just the right thing for your skin. When your heartbeat goes up, it increases blood circulation towards the skin surface. Doing so regularly is extremely important. As small as 10-15 minutes of regular physical activity will ensure that your skin glows.

#6. Moisturize

Skin loses its hydration to a lot of factors. It could be heat, humidity or any other. This leaves skin devoid of moisture it needs to stay smooth and hence illuminate radiance. While internal factors do matter, but nothing can substitute the effectiveness of a moisturizer. Just slather a bit every morning and night without fail. Use the right moisturizer. It should be picked keeping your skin type in mind. It becomes even more important in winters. This will also make your makeup look smooth, not dry and cracking up.

-> Learn how to choose the right moisturizer.

#7. Use The Right Products

Using the products that can enhance the skin’s health and not take away the sheen and glow is extremely important. Either buy products with natural ingredients in them or take the advice of an expert.

#8. Eyes

If your skin looks fresh, but eyes are tired and dull, it won’t leave a good opinion. Hence, make sure your eyes glow too. How to ensure that? Long hours on the computer and sleepless nights can lead to such problems. Use simple tricks as under to make your eyes glow:

  • Rinse your eyes with cold water first thing after waking up.
  • Apply an eye mask while sleeping to cover your eyes.
  • Or apply an eye contour gel that hydrates the skin around the eyes.

-> Learn how to naturally care for the skin around your eyes.

#9. Home Remedies

A lot of kitchen products can help in reviving the lost glow of your skin. Milk, lemon juice, turmeric, honey, aloe vera, baking soda, cucumber to name a few. You can apply them alone or in combination with a few selective ingredients on the skin. Dry and then rinse off. You will see the results without fearing any side effects.

Apply our recommendations. Hopefully, they will help you in getting clearer, glowing skin.
