There are few eye colors as coveted as Hazel eyes. Stunning on their own, it was tricky deciding which makeup tips for hazel eyes were the best? But if you’re a lucky owner of this beautiful shade eyes, I’ve collected the greatest shades and techniques that will put them front and center.
#1 Less is More
It doesn’t take much to make naturally gorgeous eyes stick out, that’s why my first makeup tip for hazel eyes is an earthy-toned natural look. Choose your perfect set of brown and cream color shadows depending on whether your skin is warm, neutral or cool-toned.
Apply the shade that is closest to your skin-tone as a transition shade to create a blank canvas for the following shades. Then on your lid, take a shade between the first and the deep brown shade and buff it on to your lid carrying it slightly above the crease.
For hooded eyes, use the deepest brown shade as a smokey liner below the bottom lash line. For all other eye shapes, deepen the eyes by blending it into the crease.
Clean up with a light coat of black or dark brown mascara and your hazel eyes are ready for anything. This natural smokey-brown eyeshadow look is versatile and can be paired with the perfect shade of red lipstick for a night out or a nude gloss for a day-look.

#2 Black and Gold
Hazel eyes seemingly shift between brown and green but it’s the elegant hues of gold and bronze that make this eyeshade magical. To emphasize the contrast of bright flecks against the deep brown, black and gold can make the biggest statement.
Create a black and grey smokey eye then top it with a glitter gold shade over the lid. Don’t want to go so bold? Then do a simple cat-eye with black liner and just a pinch of gold on the inner corner of your eyes. However you choose to apply black and gold, it’s the perfect combo for hazel eyes.

#3 Warm Eyeliner
We are going from black and gold and jumping all the way to the other side of the color wheel. When you think eyeliner blacks, deep browns, and greys are probably the first thing to come to mind. But hazel eyes beam with warm-toned eyeliners. Emerald, plum, chocolate, olive, and even coral colored liners are an easy and subtle way to boost the green in your hazel eyes.
#4 Get Colorful
Dreaming of what you could do with that colorful eyeshadow palette you keep ignoring? Fortunately, your hazel eyes are the perfect canvas for all sorts of bright and bold looks. Blue eyes can clash with certain colors, brown eyes can get lost amongst many shades, but hazel eyes can take on a mermaid moment, sunset eyelids, and all the unicorn fantasy looks imaginable.

#5 Pretty in Pink
I’ll talk about pink lipsticks all day but it isn’t often I brag about pink eyeshadow! It’s mostly been reserved for my hazel-eyed friends. Paired with lavenders or purples, pink has a subtle way of enhancing the green flecks in hazel eyes. Instead of just limiting pink eyeshadow to the lid, drag it all the way down to the lower lash line for maximum effect.

#6 Avoid Too Much Blue
The best makeup tips for hazel eyes wouldn’t be complete without a fair warning, so here’s yours–don’t overdue it with blue eyeshadow. If it’s blending it in to diffuse some purple or add to a grey ombre look, fine. But too much blue will cancel out green and gold highlights that can be seen in hazel eyes. So you don’t have to avoid it entirely, just include some of the other techniques while using a light hand with your blues.

#7 Lipstick for Hazel Eyes
Choosing the best lipstick usually means addressing your skin undertones. But if you consider just your eyes, there are a few power colors that play perfectly with hazel eyes. Pair magenta, orchid, and blue-based pinks with tip #1 and you’ve got an entire look centered around your hazel eyes!

#8 Contoured Cutie
Your face makeup does just as much work as your eyeshadow does to shape and define your hazel eyes. Use a deep contour color to chisel your cheekbones then top it with a golden highlighter for an added touch your eyes can thank you for.

#9 Beautiful Brows
Brows are critical to properly executing all of the makeup tips for hazel eyes. Like contour, they help shape the eyes and create the parameter for where your eyeshadow and eyeliner go.
When shaping your brows for plucking, waxing, or with a brow pencil or brush, locate the three parts of the brow to create the outline. The first being your starting point which aligns directly with the outer part of your nostrils on each side (you can use a pen to indicate and mark it lightly with a brow pencil). The second being the middle where you’ll make your arch and the third is the tail of the brow which extends slightly past the outer corner of your eye. Now, fill in the outline for full and shapely brows that will perfectly house your hazel eye makeup look.

#10 Cream of the Crop
We’ve gone black, bold, and bright but it’s time to tone it down with a shockingly simple way to showoff hazel eyes. Cream, tan, or beige will constitute a different hue depending on your skin tone. Usually, a proper cream is about 3 shades lighter than your foundation color. For a little extra pizzazz, choose a cream-colored eyeshadow that has a shiny or dewy finish.
No one likes a showoff, but for hazel eyes, we’ll make an exception! From big and bold to simple and sassy, you’ve got all the makeup tips for hazel eyes that you need.
